What are the energy sources?
Are all the natural resources form which we obtain different forms of energy.
They are CLASSIFIED by:
· Its use - household or industrial
· Availability in nature - renewable or non-renewable
· Origin - primary or secondary
· Use - conventional or non conventional
· And the environmental impact - clean or polluting
The most common energy transformation of the energy sources is into ELECTRICITY, due to the following reasons:
- It can be easily transformed in other kinds of energy
- It can be transported in long distances at low cost
The natural resources most commonly used to obtain electricity are the WIND FARMS, SOLAR PANELS and HYDROELECTRIC PLANTS
They all have in common they use a turbine, which takes the natural energy (mechanical like in the wind farms and hydroelectric plants, or thermal like in the photovoltaic panels) for transmitting it to an alternator, a shaft that converts this energy into electricity.
